The Challenge
A regulated European FinTech operating under a German banking licence lacked a centralised data function. Executive and investor reporting was fragmented, third-party vendor costs were escalating, and there was no data governance framework to satisfy regulatory requirements for lineage, auditability, or access control.
Our Solution
We built the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence from scratch — defining an enterprise data strategy, operating model, roles and responsibilities, tooling standards, and Agile delivery processes. A regulatory-grade cloud-native data platform was architected with automated data lineage, audit logging, and role-based access controls aligned to banking-licence requirements.
How We Did It
Data Strategy & Operating Model
Defined end-to-end data strategy partnering directly with the CEO and CFO. Established north-star KPIs and a KPI taxonomy with data-quality checkpoints, improving data accuracy by ~25%.
Regulatory Platform Architecture
Designed a cloud-native platform with automated lineage, audit-grade logging, and RBAC. Ensured full alignment with German banking regulatory requirements for data handling and reporting.
Executive & Investor Reporting
Transformed executive and investor reporting by delivering self-service dashboards supporting Series-C fundraising, board reporting, and regulatory compliance. Reduced third-party vendor costs by ~30%.
Capability Building
Built internal analytics capability through a structured mentorship and training programme, developing junior staff into analysts and engineers using Agile delivery practices.
“The data platform became a cornerstone of our Series-C fundraising — investors could see we had institutional-grade data governance from day one.”
